WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO DO A TRIATHLON?
i firstly did triathlon back in senior PE at school and enjoyed the challenge. i then started up a couple of years after, as the guys at my work were doing it too. that sort of inspired me to take it up again.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TRIATHLONS FOR?
i have been doing triathlons for roughly about 3 years now and enjoying every single race that i do.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE TRI?
oohh that's a tough question! i've done so many different races it's hard to pick a favourite. i do Mooloolaba tri every year & enjoy it, so it would be up there. last year i did Cairns Ironman 70.3 that was tough but i loved it.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A TRI?
i make sure i hydrate in the days leading up to the race & eat well the week of the race. i also ensure that i've done an appropriate amount of training for that specific distance. otherwise you could get caught out with not being prepared for the distance.
WHAT ARE YOUR 'GO TO' ITEMS FOR TRAINING?
my garmin watch & cycle computer are priority.. haha!! i never do a training session with either of them. when cycling i always have to have matchy matchy kit & socks!! nutrition is also key for me.
