WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR 2020?
My goals would be to improve my riding even further, and to become more confident on certain technical features.
WHEN DID YOUR CYCLING/MTBING JOURNEY START?
Before cycling, I used to be an avid squash and tennis player! But my dad tore his meniscus when He was playing squash one weekend. After surgery, cycling was recommended as a great rehabilitation exercise. He started mountain biking, really enjoyed it, and got the family involved. The rest is history!
WHAT SET OF WHEELS DO YOU HAVE?
I ride 3 bikes, one of my mountain bikes is a Specialized S-Works Epic 2019, the other is specialized camber, and my road bike is a specialized venge.
WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE & WHY?
My favourite place to ride would have to be Scribbly gums, or Nerang! Love the hills at Nerang, and the trails at Scribbly gums are fast and flowy!
ON AVERAGE HOW MANY KMS DO YOU RIDE A WEEK?
I ride my road bike every Tuesday, and mountain bike on the weekends. If I’m lucky, I’ll get time to ride on Thursday as well. Meaning that I ride around 80-100km a week.
WHAT CAN’T YOU LIVE WITHOUT?
I definitely can’t live without chocolate, and Oreos! They make the best after race treat!
WHAT’S YOUR ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS JUST STARTING OUT IN THEIR CYCLING/MTBING JOURNEY?
My advice would be that everyone falls off and crashes from time to time. You sometimes can’t avoid them. But whether you’re riding with friends or family, group riding is the best way to progress and learn new skills. But regardless of who you ride with, mountain biking is all about enjoying the outdoors and the exercise!
