WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR 2019?
To better my times and improve my riding and skills.
WHEN DID YOUR CYCLING JOURNEY START?
My journey started 2 years ago through some friends of my little brother.
I then started doing Junior Dirt Skills training programme which is run by
Adelaide Mountain Bike Club & Port Adelaide Cycling Club.
This is a great programme for learning and improving skills, meeting lots of
new people and making friends.
WHAT SET OF WHEELS DO YOU HAVE?
*MTB: I had a Merida Big 7 XT up tp 2019 Nationals but just got a
(new to me) Merida Big 7 Team which I love as it is so light.
*CX: Merida Mission CX 600
WHERE'S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE?
Fox Creek, SA because the trails are a mix of technical and flowy.
Melrose in SA, Flinders Ranges and Bright in Victoria. I am also super
lucky to live on the edge of the Adelaide Hills where there are 5 Mountain
Bike Trails areas I can ride to from home with one just at the end of my street!
ON AVERAGE HOW MANY KMS DO YOU RIDE A WEEK?
About 4 rides a week and 75km - 100km as I have to fit in other team sport
and school work. This goes up or down depending on what races
are coming up.
WHAT CAN'T YOU LIVE WITHOUT?
My mountain bike and chocolate milk for recovery!!
WHAT'S YOUR ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS JUST STARTING
OUT ON THEIR CYCLING JOURNEY?
Don't worry about crashing. Try and have some proper skills training
to give you confidence then find outher people to ride with who are starting
out and progress with them, teaching them skills you know and learning
from them. Have fun and don't worry about getting dirty!
